About

Kasese District has more than 67,531 persons with Disabilities. 85% of them need Community based rehabilitation services, education and livelihood.

Who We Are

Kasese District Association of Persons with Disabilities (KADUPEDI) was founded by a team of 08 persons with disabilities led by the Late Nehemiah Masererka (RIP). Initially, the eight people were organized in informal group in the early months of 1995 but realized that their voices on disabilities issues were not being recognized given their informal structure and grouping by then. They conducted several consultative meetings with other PWDs and enlightened persons in the community especially the Bishop -Kasese Diocese and South Rwenzori Diocese and later decided to form themselves into a formal group known as Kasese District Association of persons with Disabilities-KADUPEDI. They started to operate formally as a registered group on 11th November, 1996 and absorbed more Organizations of persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and Associations of persons with Disabilities into its organizational growth and development.
